Bin collection days for every Taupō suburb, what goes in each bin, and where to drop off everything else.
Taupō's kerbside service is a green recycling bin, a black glass bin and rubbish in bags with a pre-paid orange sticker, all collected every week. Here is how to find your collection day, what goes in each bin, and where to take everything else.
Have your bins out by 7.30am on collection day, close to the kerb and clear of the footpath. A few streets differ from the rest of their suburb, so check your exact address with the council’s lookup.

Orange stickers are $3 each from council customer service centres and other outlets. There is no limit on how many stickered bags you put out. Two small bags tied together, up to 30 litres, need half a sticker.
Is there a garden waste collection?
No, and garden waste can't go in your rubbish bag. Take it to Broadlands Road, where green waste is $8 minimum or $80 a tonne.
What if my bin is lost or I need another?
Each household gets one green and one black bin, replaced free if lost or stolen. Extra bins are $10 from customer service centres in Taupō, Tūrangi and Mangakino.
