What ERO found
The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a Te Ara Huarau School Profile Report from May 2023. It set out how ERO and the school would work out which assessment practices give the most accurate picture of each learner.
ERO noted that the school is well resourced and offers learners a range of curriculum experiences, and that staff are building their understanding of newer assessment approaches with help from the Kāhui Ako and the local principals’ association. The school’s own goals include a locally and culturally responsive culture and whānau who are invested in learners’ success.
The school’s priorities are to review its assessment practices, make better use of learner data to guide teaching, and review how it reports progress to the board and whānau. ERO said its next public report would be a School Evaluation Report.
